richard, do you think they do have a substantial case here? >> well, i think they're right. and as bob dylan told us the times are achanging. and it's time for the military to step up and recognize the fact that women are participating. they're risking their lives and the same as men and as long as they're trained, physically equipped with the skills and are physically able to. and i think panetta will make that realization. i don't think this litigation is the way to handle it. it is definitely accelerating. >> he says women are equal to men and they lack ambition. but let me ask you, avery then. you know, somebody who is bringing the suit, they are s e recei heavy duty. one pilot was forced into the ground training when the helicopter was shot down. she had to rescue others. what kind of case do you think -- what can leon pa net why argue basically? >> i don't think i can construct a sensible argument. i don't know that leon panetta is unsympathetic. i think this case belongs in the federal district court. it's a 19 page complaint and is based on the fifth amendment. a lot of people

the tremendous service and career of bob morton. a 22-year veteran of the washington state legislature who recently announced that he was going to be retiring at the end of the year. he was first elected to the house in 1990 and then he was appointed to the senate where he currently represents the seventh district, including stevens, and parts of spokane county. he owned a small logging business and ran cattle while also preaching at his local church and serving the community. but bob is not just an outstanding legislator for eastern washington, he's also a close friend. a mentor and the reason that i got into politics and public service in the first place. as an elected official i've worked with him on countless issues and his advice and friendship has been invaluable. he's recognized for his leadership and knowledge, good forest management, no one knows western water law better than bob and he's participated in most of the negotiations over washington water law. bob and his wife linda have five children, 11 grandchildren and i know they're looking forward to spending more time with them

, of course, is insane. the only reason anybody ever heard about it is because bob costas mentioned whitlock in his gun commentary on nbc. so we called this whitlock guy and invited him on the factor. here's what he wrote, quote. i was summoned to testify before speaker of the big house, bill o'reilly, the fox news entertainer. i don't have to shuffle off to the big house when summoned. o'reilly is not boehner, pelosi, or obama. he's tv intertainer who spent the weeks after the election crying about the end of white establishment america. the end of the days when an upstanding white man felt entitled to summon whomever he wanted whenever he wanted to the big house to dance. i don't dance, unquote. now, that is pure racism. nothing else. whitlock implying that i'm some kind of slave overlord, and he gets away with that kind of garbage. in fact, he gets paid to spout. way beyond disgraceful. that's poison but not unusual. hate speech now happening all the time. there comes a point when all good people must say enough. that point has now been reached in america. the jason whitlocks of the world

republican senator announced his support for raising tax rates on wealthy americans. tennessee senator bob corker says if the gop agrees to the wealthy tax hike, republicans would be better positioned to negotiate for bigger spending cuts on social security and medicare. >> there is a growing group of folks that are looking at this and realizing that we don't have a lot of cards as it relates to the tax issue before year-end. a lot of people are putting forth a theory and i think it has merit where you give the president the 2% increase that he's talking about, the rate increase on the top 2%. and all of a sudden, the shift goes back to entitlements. and all of a sudden, once you give him the rate on the top 2%, it's actually much lesser tax increase than what he's been talking about. the focus then shifts to entitlements and maybe that puts us in a place where we actually can do something that really saves this nation. >> corker joins fellow snaerls coburn, collins and snowe in supporting an increase in tax rates for wealthy americans. cnn's emily schmidt joins us live from our washington
